Nice job on the Afghan and hope you are able to relax and enjoy the last days.

I wouldn't worry too much if the Afghan isn't done by the time the baby is born. The baby won't know the difference if it isn't ready for a few weeks afterwards and will still work.

:applesauce: That Dumbo is precious. The expression on his face is so adorable and that BS you hated makes all the difference so it really was well worth it. As Imme said, if you are a few weeks late it will not matter to the baby, so hopefully you'll be able to relax and enjoy your stitching a bit more.

Hi . I am looking at getting the Dumbo afghan blanket , silly question but what does the back look like when its completed ? Is it all open to see the back of the designs / thread ?
Hope that makes sense !

Hey hun, yes the back is all visible unfortunately. I have stayed quite neat, but have decided to get it backed with some pretty fabric, to stop the baby's nails getting caught if nothing else.

yes, it comes unfinished, and you can either fray the edges, or hem them x

That latest Dumbo is adorable   Really don't worry or stress about finishing it for due date, as others have said baby won't notice.

I started an afghan for my baby when I was 20 weeks pregnant, she'll be 2 in 6 weeks and I'm racing to finished it for her birthday!!!!

I plan to back mine with a pretty fabric and also add some wadding so it's a little like a duvet.
