Question

Post by jess223 »

I recently did a piece that had a few red french knots. When I washed it, the red bled out onto the white fabric. I tried re-washing it in cold water, but I wasn't able to get all of the red off of the fabric. Is there any way to get the red out?

You could try baking soda paste (made from water and baking soda) just on the spot but I'm not sure it will work - red is notorious for running and staining.

Thanks! I've since learned that I should have washed the red thread before working with it, but since it bled onto a completed piece, I had no clue what to do.
