WWS Tribals - Stitchalong anyone?

Post by johannauk »

I would love to do a stitchalong if anyone is interested in stitching along with me. For anyone unfamiliar, these fun charts are designed by Jamie and her daughter at White Willow Stitching:

http://shoppe.whitewillowstitching.com/ ... l?page=all" target="_blank" target="_blank

I was thinking of starting in a couple of weeks if anyone fancies joining me (long enough to order if you don't have one yet!! lol)

I am going to stitch the seahorse.

I love some of those designs...especially the crab, dolphin and manatee. I may try one but I'm much to slow to do a SAL.

Mary C - don't think that, I don't think a SAL needs to be fast or slow, just a group stitching together at our own pace...some may finish in days, others may need months, we may stitch one design or several.. but we can all share our progress and choices of design and colours :)

I am very tempted (which is totally ridiculous so I will probably join) but I need a little clarificiation as to what "tribals" are. I looked in our Glossary but didn't see it. Looks kind of like one color only? I like the tribal cat (of course) but think some of these would be great Xmas presents.

I believe the designs by Jamie's daughter (Phoenix, Tiger etc) are based on the tribal tattoos, which gave the range their name. Jamie has a slightly different style introducing more distinct shapes..sometimes relevant to the title (eg the penguin includes a fish)

Hope you all will give in to temptation!! Go on, you KNOW you want to....

What an amazing collection. Sadly, as you have discovered Johanna, I need to concentrate on GD's birthday gift so won't indulge in a stitch-a-long this time anyway.

Good luck and I hope you get plenty of others to do it with you.

Good luck with the birthday gift, it's beautiful and I wish you all the best completing it in good time!!
