Thank you everyone! Sorry I haven't been around very much, been trying to keep up with everyone's projects but the past couple days haven't been the greatest I had a gallbladder attack that lasted about 7 hours with 4 of those hours spent in the ER because it wouldn't go away. Since then I have just been lazy and tired and lost my stitchy bug for a few days. It came back though (my stitchy bug!!) and I have managed to finish page 2!

Image

I have about 12 working days invested into her now. We won't be getting the beads for her until closer to the end of the month because the John Clayton kit is special order so they are going to ship it all at once when they have everything together! That's ok though, I plan on finishing up my Christmas Angel so I can get them both framed for Christmas! The two of them look so good together  about the same size too!

I am still unsure if I should do the lace detailing at the top of the pattern though. I think it makes the design look too top heavy. What are your guys thoughts on that?

That's looking lovely. I'd be inclined to agree with you about the lace, I think she looks great without it. I think too if you're planning to frame it with the Christmas Angel and hang them together it might look odd to have one with a lace border and one without.

I quite like the lace border, but I hadn't ever thought of it like that, I thought it was window decorations for Christmas as she's sitting on a window seat.

:applesauce: lovely. I also thought that the lace border was Christmas decorations around a window. I like them a lot, but if you are planning on pairing this with one that has no border, it probably makes sense not to do it. And even more important, if you don't like it, don't do it. No one but you (and us of course) will know. I promise not to tell anyone else.

Hope you are feeling better and have no more attacks like that. Rest up and take care of yourself.

Very pretty!! Great update and I do hope you won't be having any further problems with your gall bladder!
I think this would look just fine without the border, but no matter what you decide on, it is going to look fabulous!!

It looks great! Maybe save off on doing the lace until you finish the rest and then you can always add it in if it looks too bottom heavy?

Love how the fabric of her dress and the couch have so much texture. Well done.

Sorry to hear of your gall bladder attack - they can be quite painful. I had my gall bladder removed in my early twenties.

Yes I love the fabric in this too, there is no back stitching in the dress because the shading is just so well done!

And yeah they can be painful, I don't know what sets mine off though (I eat a very low fat diet and the attacks can come hours after I last ate something waking me up in the middle of the night  ) and I rarely get them but when I do they last maybe 15 minutes tops with the exception of my very first one I got 2 years ago and this last one. I don't think it is that bad and would prefer to keep my gallbladder for as long as I can because I am not ready to change my life style just yet. Even my doctor said if it isn't that bad and they don't come every week then no reason to get it out unless I wanted to or it becomes infected. But I am not completely sold on it being my gallbladder and that the doctors are just jumping to conclusions based on the tall tail symptoms of pain in the side and it not being my appendix from what they can tell from a blood test since they haven't given me an ultrasound during an attack. When I explain to the doctors my symptoms (like major muscle cramping and tightness all throughout my stomach that I think is worse than the gallbladder pain itself and tell them how low fat my diet is) they look at me and say "huh, never heard that before that is very odd" So I am thinking I need to see a specialist eventually before I am 100% sold on the idea of it being my gallbladder.

I never even thought of it being window decorations  it always looked like a boarder to me! But I think I am going to go with no boarder for sure. I will take the bead details from it though and add it to the lace details on the bench :)

Thank you everyone for the advice! And I am doing much better now

I love this community :)

She's beautiful. I love that she is reading as well. Look forward to more progress.

Sorry about you gall(?) attack, does sound like some deeper investigation might be wise! Glad it doesn't last too long usually, hope it goes back to that!!

Wow almost a full month since I last updated this one. I spent about 3 weeks visiting my grandparents so I took this to work on in the evenings while watching reruns of NCIS and blood and gut shows (like Dateline and Snapped on the OWN).

Image

Picture isn't the greatest but I got a third page done and some back stitching. I need to start finishing some of my projects since I seemed to have stocked up on other supplies for other projects!
