Hand Dyeing Fabric
Well I am trying to look into how to hand dye some fabric but it seems like everyone is protective of how they do it, which I understand if they are selling lol. But I want to dye some of my own fabrics because I don't seem to find exactly what I want. Is there anywhere online that I can be pointed to like a site or blog with step by step instructions on how to properly dye cross stitch fabrics...mainly linen?

If you are looking for some one to help change you, look in the mirror

Re: Hand Dyeing Fabric
Feel free to use the tips and info I gleaned from my own search on how to hand dye fabric! Please keep in mind that the dyes I used (RIT dyes) aren't commercial grade, and are not colourfast. To be honest, I'm rather hesitant to wash my work once the stitching is done. (Which is why I love my grime guards for my Q-snaps.)
Just be careful and don't do anything that might jeopardize your finished piece!
Good luck! I can't wait to hear how it goes.

Re: Hand Dyeing Fabric
I came across this site the other day- and they have an online cloth dying class. More for sewing and quilting- but the process and the dyes should be the same.. only the base fabric is different.. right? I've never signed up for anything like this but it might be interesting.
