You know, it kind of does. Even more so when looking at the real thing.

I figured as much given that on the blackwork lady I did... the only way I could possibly have done that would be to start and stop my threads constantly to skip over a stitch or two. Thankfully the zigzags I just did on this were simple to stitch reversibly. I'd have been worried if I couldn't manage that. ;)

Thank you on both accounts. The Seneca beard design is my own. I'll be selling it & the pattern in my etsy shop once I figure out the best way to edit the PDFs from what my pattern program spits out. XD

Let me know when you put the pattern up! I'd love to purchase one. I went with some friends to the midnight premiere and there was a guy there with a "Team Seneca's Beard" shirt that had us all cracking up!

Thanks everyone. I don't know how much stitching I'm going to be able to do today, I'm not feeling very well. I'm in bed with my heating pad and laptop, though I might be switching to my iphone shortly.

Lauren, I'll be sure to let you know. :) I've got two versions of the pattern which I'll probably be offering as a set as they're pretty similar. I didn't manage to go to the midnight premiere, but my BFF and I went to a late evening IMAX show on the Friday it opened.

Dana, I do too! Adding colors really jazzes things up and adds so much to the design.

The midnight premiere was cool, but I'm definitely not 16 anymore. LOL Me and a friend of mine (both in our late 20's) chaperoned a gaggle of teen girls. I used to love midnight showings but, my goodness, I just can't cope with being up that late at night anymore! It'll be a long time before I consider going to another late movie.

I'm in my late 20s as well, but my sleeping pattern is non-existent. I sleep when I'm tired, whether that means I've been up 5 hours or 25. I only do midnight shows now when it's something my BFFs and I are really really stoked about it. We caught the midnight showing of Avengers in 3D IMAX... which IMAX is the only way we do midnight shows any more since they do assigned seating for those, which means we don't have to go stand in line for 3 hours to get good seats. But those cost more, so again, we only go when we're really stoked about a movie. Otherwise it's a matinee show while their kids are in school.

Just posting the thumbnail since I didn't do much since my last update. I'm getting the urge to finish something, so I think I'm going to mess about with learning tatting and maybe also work on a small cross stitch project for a day or two.

I'm so glad that you are feeling better. I think this is a beautiful design and you are doing a lovely job, but understand the need to finish something. I thought of those of you who talked about learning tatting recently, when I was in Michael's yesterday to get some floss. Not only was I surprised that they had a complete supply (maybe worried about the Joanne's and the HobbyLobby , I think, that are supposed to open next month) of DMC thread, but more than just an ecru spool of tatting thread. Three or four different colors.
Post lots of pics of any tatting that you do.

Of course I'll post pics. :) They didn't have any of the individual spools of tatting thread at JoAnn's, only a big multipack. But Hobby Lobby had a bunch of tatting thread last time I was in - about 10 or 15 different colors. But you can do tatting with just about any thread. I found a blog entry yesterday where a lady showed some things she tatted with regular embroidery floss, machine embroidery thread and standard sewing machine thread.

Thanks Claire and Amanda. :) Yeah, When I got back into stitching earlier this year, all I was doing were small projects and I'd finish 1 or 2 a week. And now I go a week or so working on big projects and while I make good progress, it's hard to get the finish. One of my BFFs birthdays is coming up this week, so I think I'll make her something. :)
