Newbie - Need to make pattern from simple photo

Post by Cyndy M. »

Hi,

My name is Cyndy and I live in California. I've been cross-stitching for 25 years, always from kits. I have a simple picture that I want to turn into a pattern and have not been able to get it to work using the MyPhotoStitch website or the Curbly website. It's a simple picture and I'm sure there is a way to do it easily, but I need help.

The picture is of the trunk badge of my son's 2011 Ford Mustang car. We just bought him is dream car this weekend and I want to surprise him by making a cross-stitch of the badge as a lifetime memento. For those of you not familiar with the badge, it is a circle with FORD written around the bottom 1/3. Inside is a mustang running with three stripes behind him that are about 1/3 the width of the horse. The colors are: 2 shades of gray/silver for the circle and FORD; black for inside the circle; red, white, and blue for the stripes; and I'd use 3 or 4 shades of gray for the horse. The actual badge is 7" diameter and I'd like to come as close to the actual size as possible. I usually use 14 count Aida cloth.

Can someone tell me know to get started making this into a pattern?

Thank you very much!
