This may be an old trick but it is definitely new for me and I am so proud of myself for figuring it out.
In my last project there was a part where I had to stitch two cross stitches next to each other, then cut the thread - and repeat for about 20 times. I got bored of turning my piece again and again for starting and finishing the thread and instead I made my crosses from the back. I just had to check the first time so that the thread lied in the right direction and after that it was easy as pie.
EDIT: Oh, dear, did I really write that? Of course, I meant lay - but now I wonder if it was some Freudian slip of the tongue?
