Can't find right shade of Dimensions thread

Post by Cyndy M. »

Hi,

I am new here and have browsed extensively but only posted once before. I got an excellent response referring me to an outstanding company that is solving my problem. With all the wisdom here, I'm sure someone can tell me what to do. I have a Dimensions Gold Collection kit that I am stitching on larger fabric and have run out of two threads. I purchased DMC thread using the converted numbers and find that they do not quite match. Due to their placement in the design, I need a better match. I've searched all over for Dimensions thread and don't find it. All I get are conversion charts. I went back to the store and tried to find another floss that matched better, but can't find it in their inventory. Can someone point me in the right direction for what to do next?

Thank you all very much,

Hi Cyndy Have you asked Dimensions to send you more thread?? They sometimes use other threads to their own dyes which is a right royal pain. An email to them will hopefully get you more thread.

Sally,

I will try that. I thought the conversion charts would work and they have been fine for some of the other colors I've run out of. Hopefully Dimensions can give me some guidance.

Thank you very much,

Dimensions usually asks for you to mail in the name of the kit you're working on as well as a small piece of the floss(es) you're low on/out of so that they can make sure the shades match up.

Brandi,

Thank you. I send Dimensions an email through their website and hope to hear next week. I'll be sure to keep a sample of both colors I need.

Thanks again,
Cyndy

Dimensions have always been very helpful when I've run out of thread. Sometimes the thread takes a few weeks to get to me but otherwise they package it well and give you a good amount extra.

Thanks for everyone's help. I heard from Dimensions two business days after I emailed them and they are sending me replacement threads. Great service.
