Help with riolis kit, urgent!

Post by Sharila »

Okay now i wanted to start a new riolis kit, but encountered issues.

There are 3 types of stitches to be done.
Cross stitch with 3 strands
Half stitch in two strands
Backstitch in one strand

However the thread included is different from any other i have seen! Instead of separating into six strands, they only separate in two strands

So i am so confused! So when stitching with 3 strands i should take one whole thread, plus a half one?

Or is one thread meant to be one strand? The kit includes 10 ct aida if that helps. My other kit of 14 ct aida also use 3 strands, whereas my 16 ct aida uses two strands. So i think then that 3 usual strands is too little for 10 ct aida. So is that correct, or should i use three treads? There seems to be included enough thread for that anyway.

I hope for a quick answer, i wanted to start noooow, hmph

Hi Sharila,

I've never done a riolis kit before. Googling it, I'm guessing you probably have a kit with wool in it rather than stranded cotton - http://www.riolis.com/doc.php?doc_id=255" target="_blank . I've no idea how you start stitching with it, but there is a forum on the Riolis site so if you ask them, they could probably help. If you read russian, the answer might already be on there :D http://www.riolis.com/board/" target="_blank
