Sharilas embroidery stuff(update 18 sept)

Post by Sharila »

I have gotten enough encouragement to actually show what I am working on. This thread is for that purpose.

Here is the elephant tapestry , its stitched with half cross over canvas with thick wool thread. I have filled in all the black. It sucks in places, especially in the middle. I think I know how to do it from now on though.

Here is the koala which I started on. Not much yet, and I think I will put it on hold for a bit, as its a difficult one. My first stitches sucks!

I think you have made a wonderful start. Only with practice will you get better so don't be too critical of your work we like it!!!!!!! :applesauce:

You'll only get better as you go, and as long as all your crosses are going in the same direction, it will be fine. They look like it, so great start to all 3!

I love your elephant. I really enjoy tapestry (probably more than cross stitch really). :D

I agree completely. You have also learned something about us stitchers. We are all most critical of our own work. If you don't tell, most mistakes will go unnoticed by everyone else.

Wow, thank you all of you! I have continued quite a bit on the elephant today, will show pics in the morning.

I decided to abandon my butterfly, as i used sixstrands and it got all messed up!

I also find tapestry beautiful and addictive. I have done more on my elephant, plus started a bird one, which I am halfway done with. Will show pics tomorrow!

Do you use a frame when working on tapestry?
