wrong color fabric

Post by T1Pumper »

I recently bought some fabric online and when it arrived its a lot darker than I anticipated or remembered seeing on the website. Is there a way for me to lighten it without ruining the fabric. Its a sage color but its almost brownish/with a hint of green. Going to stitch the Legend of the Dogwood Tree on it.

I'm going to pull the colors out and see how they look with the fabric.

Doing a floss toss is the best first option. You could try a quick rinse in bleach(diluted) to remove some of the colour but it's a big risk.I've done it with fabric that I have dyed myself. But I don't know what lasting effect it has on the fabric.
