coverage
Can anyone tell me their thoughts on floss coverage I use 2 strands of DMC on 14 count Aida but I can still see the white fabric through I have tried using 3 strands but I feel this is more difficult to see where the holes are and as I'm registered as partially sighted this is difficult, would it be better to use cream fabric so that the show through is not so stark, I love doing cross stitch but am getting so frustrated with my results or am I just being too critical, please help.
Re: coverage
What size needle are you using as a Size 24 is recomended for 14 count aida
But do not get stressed out about seeing the fabric
We all have the same with darker colours
Hold you work away from you with no light behind and it will not look so bad
Remember you are looking at it 6/12 inches from your eyes others will look from further away

Re: coverage
Definitely what Reta said. If you're worried trying draping your piece over an existing frame on the wall and step back from it to a normal distance for looking at a picture and see how noticeable it is then.
We are definitely all our own worst critics.

Re: coverage
I think we've all had this worry with some project or another. Another trick I heard that I've found good is stand with your project and look into a mirror - if the mirror can't see the faults neither will anyone else.
Myst..
Re: coverage
I can only echo what the others have said. Like the mirror trick though, I find picture updates (example is the SAL) helps me see it differently. Load it up on the computer and its like looking at it for the first time. Don't forget too that you can always play around with fabric colours too
.
