These are all fantastic!
Is this the sort of thing you use for stuff like fridge magnets?
Do you have to be careful when cutting out the stitched design? I can see a small edge, but wondered how difficult it was (to make sure the whole thing didn't unravel!).

You just have to be careful when you cut it.

Plastic canvas is great stuff. I once made an entire Santa's sleigh, complete with runners, to hold little candies. It lasted for years. One day, I might make another. The design spoke to the engineering genes, I guess!

i've made fridge magnets..matter of fact i have a leaflet in my "to do" pile of cute pizza slices, cookies,etc..made for that!

it's not hard if you remember to leave the entire square you stitched in..
I'll show and post a pic..brb..

ok you stitch and then cut along those solid blacklines..
if you cut really carefully..and leave the whole square you stitched in..
you'll be fine..so you cut along the end of the square you stitched in..
hope that makes sense..lol

Love the strawberries -- isn't it great how you can play with cross stitch and different materials?

Haven't used plastic canvas yet but I have used vinylweave (for the little bunny fridge magnet) which is equally cuttable but less stiff. I'm a bit worried that plastic canvas may be rather uncomfortable to hold while stitching -- what do those who've used it think?

the smaller the piece the easier..
so i always cut it smaller and hold that..
i don't find it hard to hold..but the johnny one I'm doing now..
it's still a full sheet..when i get closer to the top and I can tell where to cut ( i don't trust my counting lol) I'll cut it smaller..it's hard to hold now as the top wants to bend back..

If the shape you're cutting is rather complicated, with 'bites' into the main design, you also have to be careful not to trail your thread at the back of the work from one cross stitch to another in case it goes across one of the bits which will be cut out! (Do you recognise the voice of experience here :-)?) Goes for anything that's cut, plastic canvas, vinylweave, stitching paper, aida plus (which they no longer do and I've never tried, but it sounded like a great idea)

I have vinylweave, cross paper, and still a small bit of the aida plus. It was wonderful to stitch with and they had about 6 different colors. I had lots of fun a few years ago making pushpin covers fro the school message boards. I was really dissappointed when they stoped making it.
