Hello everyone,

I am in love with Quaker samplers and always have been. I was wondering if anyone would like to join me in a Quaker Mystery Sampler SAL. I thought to make it a bit different, that it would take the form of a band sampler with Quaker motifs. I will design and put up a new section both here and on my blog each Monday.
What do you think?

Those Quaker motifs were so much fun & rather easy to stitch up, I'll give it a go, too! (Like I really need a nother project!! )

I'm intrigued as if I also needed something else. What I'm wondering is how big and what is the scope and besides stash are you charging anything for this?

I might join in depending on how things go. I'm working from my stash for the most part (only buying necessities at this point) so if I can work with what I have, I will probably join in. I've never done any quaker designs, so this could be a lot of fun.

Heaven's no I won't charge lol.....at least not this time haha! Anyway, for some info.

I will design 10 st/1inch.

Personally I will stitch on 28ct. Laguna because that's what I like.

Approx 9 inches wide and well....we'll just see how long we go.

Use any floss you like. I like Weeks dye works. However I am designing the pattern with plain DMC and everyone can convert as desired. I will put the thread color info up each Monday with the next installment of the pattern.

Also on the fabric. You don't have to worry about getting a huge long piece. It makes it even more interesting if you choose subtle changes in color of fabric with each section and then sew together with machine. Just be sure to keep the same fabric count.

You may Start or stop when ever you choose. Don't care for a particular part, wait til the next week. I believe in lots of choice and for us all to have a piece that we stitch together with the same ideas while still keeping our individuality.

I would also like to incorporate a stitchers friendship part where all of us who are taking part in this, will have our names listed on the piece.

40ct fabric 6 1/8W X 1 3/8H
32ct fabric 5 5/8 W X 1 3/4H
28ct fabric 8 3/4W X 2H
22ct fabric 11 1/8W X 2 1/2H
18ct fabric 13 5/8W X 3H
16ct Fabric 15 3/8W X 3 1/2H

I am working on it now an will have it ready very soon, maybe tomorrow.

Sounds like a super plan to me. I may just work mine on one piece of fabric rather than trying to piece them together but I know I am going to enjoy this!!

This sounds like fun and not too time consuming. Now I just have to think,about the fabric. I will also stick with one piece, unless it turns into,something like those scarve I used to,crochet that went on and on, or the afghans that turned into bedspreads big enough for a king size bed.
Definitely worth trying a seeing if I like it.

oh I would love to join this one too but I have been a one at the time lady ever since until I sign up on this forum and I got myself a startitis already... I am afraid I would not have enough time as I only stitch at night and I don't want to get overwhelmed.
I will be looking forward to see how this progress anyhow , it is a great idea!

Well welcome everybody!! I am soooo excited about this. I am designing as we speak, or as I type, whatever. Anywho, I will put the first section up by this evening I hope for those of us...uh-hem, (me) who want to get a jump on things. But relax we will take things as they go, and each section will just stay up here as well as on my blog that I just started.

Well, actually it's my cat's blog. He is a big fat, lazy cat (think Garfield) and he has decided to express himself through blogging. He also makes fun of me and shows the stitching I am working on.

I had been traveling for two months and I missed the funeral.
