I've recently purchased an Elbesee easy clip rotating frame (18" x 9") which I bought for some larger pieces I plan to work on. I'd read some good reviews about them.
I thought I would try using the frame on a small piece which is 7" x 13" because I've got some long rows of stitches as part of the design which frames the piece. It was just getting a bit tedious to keep taking on and off the hoop to reposition so I could work down the length of the design. I know the frame is big for the piece but I thought I'd give it a try in the hope it might make things easier. The theory seemed good but in practice it wasn't! The centre of the piece had good tension but the sides were quite loose and nothing I did made it any better. Any advice on how to get the best out of this sort of easy clip frame? I use hoops normally and in all fairness and it could just be me not doing something right.

I do get that issue as well, even with the maximum number of clips. It's actually a very common problem for scroll frames.
The solution is stitch clips: http://www.nordicneedle.com/prod/6934.html" target="_blank
I personally find them outrageously expensive, so I made my own out of suspender clips and velcro.
Works like a charm

Have you got enough clips on to hold it tight
Hi Reta. I've got quite a few of the clips to hold it on but it still tends to be loose at the sides. I thought it was a size issue because it is a big frame for the piece. A quick question (if it doesn't sound stupid), do you have much fabric go over the indented part of the roller before you clip or do you use the very edge of the fabric to clip in?

Hi MaudL. They are natty little things aren't they, but yes they are expensive. I can't find any online here in the UK but like the idea of Velcro and suspender clips. . I've got a bigger piece that I want to use the frame for but I'm not keen to use it at the moment.

I start at the edge as well and work my way along the rod
It must be me I think! I do think that it might work better with a bigger piece of fabric so will persevere. I've trawled the net to see if I can find some better pics of the stitch clips so I can try and make my own like MaudL to see if that solves the problem.
