Hi My name is Laurie and I have been cross stitching for a few years. I also do counted canvas, knit, crochet and quilt. Currently I am working on a Lavender and Lace Angel. I am finding that I need more light and stronger glasses and the use of a magnifyer at this point in my life but I love to stitch and am unwilling to stop. I am a grandmother to 9 beautiful grandchildren, a new one on the way and 1 great grandchild. I have been married for 30 years to a wonderful man and am looking forward to the next 30. Looking forward also to getting to know other people with like interests.

Hi Laurie and welcome to the forum from South Carolina. Looking forward to getting to know you. I also have found that a magnifying lamp helps immensely, especially when stitching on some of the higher count fabrics. I hope you will post pictures of your work. We love pictures.

Hi Laurie and Welcome from chilly and damp Brisbane. I agree about stronger glasses and magnifiers being in use as we get older but thank the Lord we can stitch with the help of these aids.

Hi Lauri - I just joined, too. I love Lavender and Lace and have done many of them, some three times! I love the way they turn out. Right now I am working on "Heavenly Gifts"' should be finished in another month. I, too, use a magnifying lamp and hope I can continue to stitch for many more years. Welcome to the forum! Sandy

The angel I am working on now is "Guardian Angel. I'm working her on a taupe 32 count linen with flecs of gold running through it. I have two others waiting on the back burner right now. Actually I have alot of projects on the back burner because I am determined to finish this one. It is a challenge but has been fun.

Hello from one of the newer older members. . . or am I one of the older newer members?

Anyway, I joined in January, have 7 grandkids, and couldn't stitch without my 2 lamps and the magnifying lenses that clip on my glasses. I think you'll be very happy with the forum, and we'll be very happy to see some of your work!!
