Cecilia - love your February - lovely sparkles. Your cutting looks absolutely fine to me. Yes I much prefer Mabel's squissors for cutting. :D
cristaltipps - very neat and lovely colours :D
Carole - lovely threads and I see no wonkiness :D

I did do a bit of stroking cut ends on an earlier month but haven't done it again since - I can see that there are one or two ends on mine that could do with doing.

Finished May :D Some ends still poking out despite diligent stroking so may have to go back to them and be a bit firmer

Lovely stitching Lessa :applesauce: :applesauce:

Is the cutting difficult on an Afghan with the weave being very open ? I have one in the stash cupboard ( 18ct) and was toying with stitching the complete Sal on it next year.

Louise, the cutting isn't difficult on an afghan. In fact, in a lot of ways its easier than on 22ct or 25ct as the holes are bigger and the open weave makes it easier to slip the squissors in and to see what needs to be cut and what doesn't. The threads also pull through more easily so I find I need less tweezing with a needle to free them.

On the down side, whilst I can cut closer and usually have less ends, those ends that I do have are rather obstinate about sliding into the blocks even with several stroking attempts. I'm also finding that on something like May's design, even though it isn't a large hardanger piece, the expanse of cutting and the openess and weight of an Afghan makes it advisable to do the cutting in two stages - ie cut the top half and weave the bars and then cut the second half and do the rest of the bars.

Beautiful Mays everyone! I did yet another version of January for a quick card for a friend's birthday:

Image

I'm not sure what fabric it is, but I used WDW perle #5 1156, DMC 844 perle#5 and DMC 153 floss with DMC Ecru perle #8.

And I finally finished April! I had a lot of trouble with the first bullion knots, but the last few seemed much easier. And the Greek crosses were driving me batty until I read the instructions a little more carefully. :)

Image

I used Caron Watercolours and Waterlilies in Abalone and a Caron Wildflower silk that I forgot the name of for the Rhodes stitches and DMC ecru perle #5 on 28 ct Monaco antique white.
