HI! From TN

Post by T1Pumper »

Hi all!!

I am wondering if I am the only person that cross stitches who tends to take a long hiatus from stitching? Or is it just me?
I will get all hyped up and start and then a month or two later I have put it up. Then some time will pass and I will get all excited about it again!!!
I am always looking for something new and love finding free stuff online.

I am a mom of 4 and a wife of almost 13 years. We live in Middle TN. The kids are 9,8,6 and 4...and are really great kids!

I will post some pics on my blog sometime this week of my projects but right now you can just read about us and the kids on there.

Hi there! I am kind of like you, I get very excited about it and work on it constantly, and now I have been carrying it around everywhere I go to try and make myself do it but I haven't worked on it for a couple of weeks.

Looking forward to pictures of your projects!

 Hi! I'm new here myself......everyone is really nice! Yes I also put down my stitching for short periods of time. I also knit, so I go back and forth. I guess thats why it takes me so long to finish something! Welcome,

Hi CarolinaGirl...I do some crocheting too. I am self taught so I am not that good at it. I can make baby hats and that is it. My grandmother thinks it is comical because the stitch I use to make the hats is not a normal stitch but one I made up...at least it looks good! ha ha

Hello, and welcome.

I started cross stitch a year ago and since then there has hardfly been a day when I didn'tr stitch. But I also tend to put down projects and start new ones, I have a lot of WIPs going at the same time. I just need to work out a rotating system to have all of them done.

Hello and welcome to the forum, they are very friendly and helpful here so you will enyoy it.

I tend to only have one stitching project going at a time and complete each one before starting a new one. Love other crafts too but make sure that I find time to stitch most days.

Hello & welcome from me too! I used to knit all the time then stopped when I discovered cross stitch. I now make little jumpers etc for my 2 grandchildren and am presently knitting a Paddington Bear!

Hello and another welcome, this time from Bedford in the UK. I used to be like you. I've stitched off and on for over twenty years. I would pick something up, work on it constantly for a couple of months and then find something else to do and the cross stitch would be forgotten for another year until I came across it unexpectedly again. This time though I've been stitching for about eight months with no sign of it being relegated to the back of a drawer :D :D

I blame this forum    It gives you the encouragement to keep going, insight into new techniques, fabrics and trends to keep your enthusiasm going and most of all it gives you friendly people who also love this hobby and are willing to talk about it day and night!!!

Looking forward to getting to know you and seeing your current WIPs.

hello and welcome!
that happens to me. I stitch things for sale..usually orders from friends, etc. so I have to stitch most of the time..
then if the order was big (like the 17 cards I'm doing now) when I'm done i have a hard time picking up my needle.
but it helps if I pick something out I reaaaaly want to stitch..and stitck a bit before I start the big order..then I get so anxious to work on it...that I just pick my needle right back up!

Hi and welocme from me too.

I am the same I have three projects on the go at the moment. But I flit between the three and sometimes take a break from it all completely. I think it helps me keep the enthusiasm going. This forum is a great help though as everyone gets enthusiastic about each others projects so I find I want to keep stitching for all on here to see the finished product!

Hello and Welcome. I went and had a look at your blog and both of the projects you have on the go are great. I love PV and have 4 of her books. I have not had the time to stitch one yet as other projects have to be finished first but I can not resist her. I crochet as well as cross stitch and when I feel a project is taking to long and I feel frustrated I will do a few blankets and they go so fast I am happy and can go back to my stitching. Most times I only have one project on the go at once but since I am being a secret stitcher. (Present for hubby) I have a decoy stitch on the go currently. We are very friendly and try to be helpful and encouraging so hopefully we can inspire you in some way.

Hope to see you around . :)

They are both in the SAL Section. Fire and Ice and Decoy Angel. Yes they are both large projects at the moment.

Hi and welcome to the forum. Yes, I too stitch madly and then I suppose life takes over and I find I haven't done any for a while - that's why it takes me so long to finish, too! I find I stitch more if I'm stressed or worried - it's very therapeutic. I also begin to stitch more round about this time of year when I begin to plan Christmas gifts and cards. :D
