I bought Mini Moonlighting a few weeks ago, I'd been doubting between the mini and the regular size, so doing the Mini on a lower count (=bigger end result) was pretty perfect. I love this chart because it reminds me of my two boys.

Got fabric samples for 18 count Aida and evenweave (Davosa) and 35ct Modena to work over 2.
I did some testing, the samples were small so I couldn't test under tension but it still gave me a pretty good idea.

The Davosa made quite messy crosses compared to the Modena. Even though working over two meant smaller holes (thus more tendency for me to hunch) I really liked the Modana a lot more. The aida might have made for neater crosses but I absolutely hated working on it, it was too stiff and rough to get the thread through, I didn't even want to finish the test. So I went with the Modena.

Got the floss all organized and ready.

And here's the first block. I'm taking this one slow, no setting goals or thinking about how long it's going to take, just enjoying the process, and we'll see how it goes.
