My tentative steps into decoupage

Post by Fizzbw »

Well I've been playing with napkin and other stuff decoupage. I've found some cheap wood cut outs and also my dad has been finding me old bits of ply wood I've been playing with!

What do you think?

These were for my sister who works at a butterfly farm.

And this ones a bit different, I painted the doves white and decorated them with pressed flowers, grasses and leaves. What do you think?

I agree that this is brilliant! Wish I'd thought of the pun. Good luck with ebay. I will be surprised if you don't get bids.

I think your decoupage work is beautiful! A great break from cross stitching; however you are still using your hands when decoupaging. Congrats! On selling your items on eBay, I really like the butterfly earrings and dove with pressed flowers. You are very talented! :applesauce:

Thanks guys :)

I started by seeing three d decoupage, I got some Gorjuss designs and I've gt some others that are not die cut so I can knock up a quick card for people, as its so difficult for me to go Into town.

Then I started looking at real decoupage. I've done some with cut outs from books, and various stuff. I have three bags of pictures from ancient National Geographics, but they are just too old to be any good, the ink isn't very good. So now I really don't know what to do with them!!!!

Lovely stuff. I have done some 3d decoupage but have not done any non-3d stuff. I have a couple of napkins that I have been meaning to use, another thing on my list

I did actually sell a couple of hangings, I think I need to refine my wording on others but it looks as if the Owls might be more popular.

Been doing some more, will post pics in a bit.

What fun! you have created some lovely items! :applesauce:
I havn't played with decoupage in years! Can remember when I was a kid, helping my mom cut small squares of fabric with pinking shears and decopaging them onto clay flower pots...a 70's thing but might be kinda fun as a retro craft.... Off to see of I can find a photo on the net for old times sake?
