Hi,
I'm about to start a new kit it's a Bucilla one (Live Simple Be Content 12x20) and I have ever only done Dimmensions so I'm not sure about the characteristics of the floss. I'm wondering if anybody has done a Bucilla kit and washed it at the end (as I usually do with light detergent) and had any trouble with color bleed? I don't want to spend all the time doing it just to have it get a messed up at the end. I'm wondering if I'm better to wash the colors first or I think some people set them with a vinegar water solution. Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Amy

Re: Bucilla kit floss color bleed?
I'm sorry I haven't stitched one of these....hopefully someone else on the forum will be able to help though.
You could always try washing one of the skeins and see what happens, I think the usual suspects for bleeding are reds so if it doesn't run I guess the others would be ok?

Re: Bucilla kit floss color bleed?
I am pretty sure a kit I stitched 10+ years ago was a Bucilla kit. I don't recall having any trouble washing it when I was done.
Wash a few of the flosses in the kit before you start stitching if you don't want to do all of them. I worry most about reds too.. but I suppose any color could run. Try it with a few- and if those are OK, I would assume the other flosses would also be OK.

Find the reddest thread in the kit and take about an inch of it and wash it next to some white scrap ... that will soon let you know if it's going to bleed.

I've done a Bucilla kit and there was no colour bleed after a swish around in luke warm water.
Sounds like an interesting design.
