Several questions

Post by dknit »

I've been browsing the site and the more I browse, I find I have more questions...
1. How do I get the smiles to attach? Mine aren't disabled.
2. I have only worked with one needle going at a time but I want to learn how to have multiple needles "parked" and ready on my fabric. How do you do this without getting everything confused both on the fabric and following the chart?
3. 2 over 1: Is that using two threads for one stitch?
4. Where do I go to learn how to list my WIP or finished pieces and posting pictures? Computers are not my thing.....
Thanks so much!

I know a few answers, I think. If I'm wrong,I'm hoping and am pretty sure someone will jump in and correct it.

1. I just double click on the smilie and what occurs in the posting box is the word description of the smilie. To see if you have the right one, click on Preview and the little guy (or girl?) will show up. That is how it works on my computer. Works the same with the iPad and I assume it would with any tablet or smart phone, but I'm not sure.

2. You can do a search by going to the top of the website and clicking on the Search button and entering "parking" in the keyword box. Lots of threads will show up. I found this thread on my search and it is a good one for two reasons. Direct links to tutorials and to the glossary which is one of the best immediate resources on the forum when you don't know what a word or phrase means. Lots of hints there also.

3. Yes, and if you scroll up a few posts you will see the answer to this question (I couldn't get a direct link to that post for some reason) and see why the glossary is such a great resource.

4. If you go up to the top of the page, click the Profile button. Then click on Profile under the options given on the left side of the box. Then click on Edit signature and that is where you list the WIPs and anything else you want to show on every post you make.

I find the glossary exceptionally useful if I don't have the patience to wait for an answer, but it never hurts to ask a question.
