Looking for patterns using black fabric

Post by karenstitches »

I'm stitching Stoney Creek's Western Jewels, which uses bright colors on black fabric, and I've realized I love working on black! Does anyone know of a site that features a lot of patterns with black fabric? THanks!

I don't know of a site that focuses on black fabric ........ but you can put almost any design on black.

I agree that any brightly colored pattern could easily be stitched on black for a stunning effect!

Almost all of the Dimensions Gold Miles Pinkney stuff is on black. I personally substitute black quite often because I prefer it.

Thanks for the great suggestions, everyone! I hadn't even thought of putting a pattern designed for white fabric on black fabric. Now I realize that I have several patterns that I could easily modify to work very well on black, simply by substituting brighter shades of the original colors.

"A Whole Lotta Latte" by Dimensions is worked on black Aida. I'm stitching it now. I know there are many others out there and as some have already stated, you can change to black with other patterns.

I stitched an Imaginating Noel bellpull that was charted for navy fabric onto black fabric.

I think blackwork would really pop if stitched in white on black fabric.
