I just finished this one. It's a small Joan Elliott Christmas ornament from the Cross Stitch and Needlework Sept 2013 magazine. I thought it was adorable and had to stitch it up. There are 3 ornaments in that issue, and there are to be 3 each in the next two issues of the magazine. I'm not sure how I will finish this up yet, I may use this as a card or make it up into a small decoration.



I used 32 count pale blue evenweave, and the design is only about 2 1/4 inches square

That is beautiful, Karen! I love the gold border and the holly berries (are those perfectly made French knots? or beads? First I thought one than the other but my aging eyes can't tell from the photo. ) Lovely!

Thanks so much everyone, it really was a fun stitch---I can't wait to see what other ones will be in the next issues--as I'd love to make a small banner from a few of the designs. Carole, those are red petite seed beads--and only one french knot, for the chickadee's eye--I used kreinik #4 braid for the border, rather than dealing with the metallic dmc gold that the chart called for

The Angels are a free design by Ant of Sweden http://www.ant-of-sweden.com/" target="_blank" target="_blank
and I used a border from my Jane Greenoff iStitch program to make the design a bit larger.

This was a nice quick one to stitch.

It might have been quick but it most certainly is so pretty. There is something very striking about silhouettes and these angels are precious!
