Dragon of the Mountains. FINISHED!

Post by Fljotsdale »

My latest project. I don't have a pic of completed item yet, cos in a book and tricky to photograph, so I thought a guessing game might be fun. :) Possibly!

Gosh! How clever you all are! I think it looks like seaweed, too, Maggie - but the dragons have it! I don't think I could have guessed from that little section :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce:

I was going to guess a rosebud with a blue ribbon around it, but I'll settle for a dragon :-)

I really was going to guess a dragon, mostly because of the colors, and now I am excited to see what it will look like as your progress. Great start! :applesauce:

If it wasn't a dragon or seaweed, my other guess was a mermaid with those rich colors. Thought it had to be something mythical.

Nice guessing Karen! And so quick

When I looked at it, I didn't so much think of what it was as who it was by. Is it by any chance a Joan Elliot? It just has that feel, if you know what I mean.

It's very pretty, whatever/whoever it is :)

Thanks for your interest, everyone! :D

Yes, Carole, it is a Joan Elliot. It's in a book called Magical Cross Stitch, published by David&Charles. I really don't care for most of the designs (there are 5 other designers, besides Elliot), but there are 3 Chinese dragons that are irresistible! This one is called Dragon of the Mountains.

I still wouldn't have got that it was a dragon. I'm a bit hopeless, I was thinking some sort of weird duck with tentacles from the first pic  Lovely colours though and I'm looking forward to seeing how it comes out.
