Amyb's Around the World in 80 Stitches

Post by amyb »

I blame you guys for my being enticed to start this. Well, ok, not really. If I weren't so weak willed and easily entertained by pretty colors I wouldn't have considered it. But I really admire the pieces shown on this forum and in the gallery over at Papillon Creations. And there was a Jedi exerting mind tricks...

So, once I got started (I forget when lol), I couldn't stop. I blasted right through till I realized I was already on part 7! It was just too fun to put it down, ya know? I decided that instant gratification isn't always a good thing and made myself add it to the rotation so I don't get to part 13 and feel sad about the wait lol. Plus, there are bullion knots in 13. Which I dislike even more than picots. So. I guess it's actually dread that helped me set it aside lol

I took photos of each part as I completed it, so I'm just going to link the whole album thus far, then post individual updates as I complete parts.

I'm stitching it on 32 ct Lambswool linen by Permin of Copenhagen, and my colors are all DMC:

Dark green: 501
Medium green: 502
Light green: 3813
Floral 1: 799
Floral 2: 800
Floral 3: 3854
Floral 4: 3855
Floral 5: 208
Floral 6: 210
Floral 7: 3778
Floral 8: 3779
Metallics: E301 - a real pain in the butt!
Bead 1: light blue ceylon
Bead 2: metallic turquoise
Beads found at Hobby Lobby, Bead Treasures Czech Glass Beads
