Snowflake heart - framed!

Post by Dorris »

My little brother gets married in December and I wanted to make them a little something. As its a winter wedding and I know there is a heart theme with the invites I settled on this. It doesn't show too well in the pictures but I used three shades of dark blue - they are having midnight blue bridesmaid dresses. Now need to think about how to finish it. I was thinking about putting the wedding date in the middle - but I think I like it how it is?

What a lovely design, and so refreshing to see it in blue rather than the usual red. I might be tempted to put their initials and the year in the middle. :thinks:

What a beautiful design!! I love it!!

I agree with Serinde, I would put their names or initials with the date in the middle.

Very unique and gorgeous. I think their initials or just first names and the date would be great.

This is so neat and lovely! If it was me I'd leave it as it was, a design like that is a statement and perhaps adding writing in the middle would detract from the delicate designs around the outside? Either would look lovely though :)

It's lovely either way. The addition of the initials would be a permanent reminder of the occasion, especially for future generations, you've got to assume this will be an heirloom piece.

Oh yes, how about you stitch the initials and date etc on a small spare bit of the same fabric and then lie it in the middle to see what it looks like?

Please do add your own initials or at least sign the back :)

I agree. I often forget to put my initials on a gift piece and then think that several hundred years from now on antiques road show (the space version I guess) they will all have to wonder who the stitcher was and I could have saved them the trouble. Your piece is definitely going to be an heirloom.
