I haven't stitched in a while and am just getting started again.
I want to use a 10 or 11 inch Qsnaps frame for large projects and just move it around but then what will I do about the beads? One of the Mirabilias I'd like to do at some point has a lot of them. Can you put The snaps over beads?
The bases for the lap stand come in different sizes so a base that works with a 10 inch Qsnaps would not work if I have to later do the beading on a huge Qsnaps frame. The first project I want to work on is not so large and has no beads but I can't afford more than one frame.
In case anyone is wondering the reason each base only works with certain sizes is that it holds both sides of the frame. (This is the K's Creations stand I used before with a scroll frame and loved it.) I find that when a base clamps only on to one side of the frame it feels tippy and when it is supported on both sides it feels solid.
If you use smaller Qsnaps what do you use for beads?

Re: If you use smaller Qsnaps what do you use for beads?
Hi Sarah and welcome to the forum
For projects that have beads, if the frame isn't large enough to fit the entire design within, then I will just stitch all of the stitching and leave spaces for the beads. When the stitching is finished, I then go back and start on the beading---sometimes I will just use 2 or 3 of the clamps if need be so as not to smash any beading that I might have already done--hope that makes sense
That all being said, I usually won't do the beading on my frame, just hold my 8 by 11 inch qsnap in hand to do the beading

I don't use q'snaps but I don't think I'd put them over beads - it would almost defeat the purpose - the beads would raise the q'snap off the fabric and ruin the tension.
I would tend to do beading at the end and freehand.

OK thanks! It sounds like I will be fine with the smaller stand then.
