Angel Proclamation - Finished!!!

Post by Heidi »

I dug up an old project that I have been avoiding to complete because of all the bead work. It feels like there is about a million bead that needs to be stitched. I'm also not sure how I am going to do the ribbon work. If someone has any suggestions how to attach the ribbons.

I don't have a clue about doing the ribbon work in it--- I didn't know this piece had ribbon involved!! Looking forward to your next update

What a really beautiful design this is, I've not seen it before. You have stitched it up beautifully too. The bead work will really make it all sparkly and really add to the design I'm sure.
What sort of "ribbon work" is it? We learnt to do ribbon roses on the Song of the Weather SAL a few months back and it was fun.

That is a really lovely design and stitched beautifully. Sorry I can't help with the ribbon work but I'm sure there will be somebody on the forum who can :D

Wow, this is gorgeous! The beading looks fantastic, even if it is a pain. :applesauce: :applesauce:

There is also a yuku forum for Mirabilia designs, that probably has some advice: http://mirabiliastitchers.yuku.com/

Stunning, the ribbon would have me stumped too. I would probably end up leaving it off.

I have never used ribbon before on a cross stitch piece, but I am wondering if you could lay the ribbon where it needs to go then either tack it down with a single stitch or couch it.

I can't wait to see an update on this, it is a beautiful piece!

the stitching is stunning! what a beautiful creation. i love it! it's so spiritual and calming. the pattern seems made for cross stitching. i love beading---i haven't done a lot but i am addicted!

are you beading over existing cross stitches and if so with many strands? or are you beading in place in stitches? i am just curious for my own bead work.

i think the creation would look great even without beads. beads can add such a flare. as i have been told--one stitch at a time---one bead at a time!

I found this YouTube video that explains how to bead on cross stitching projects. It's really easy to do it this way.

Hope that this helps anyone who does bead work in their projects.

this is what I was thinking, lay it where it goes and use one strand of a matching color to tack it in place.

That is beautiful. It's on my wish I could do this in my lifetime but I keep buying HAEDs list  . Anyway it's beautiful and the beading looks really nice. One will never know you were nervous in putting in the beads. As for the ribbon. Doesn't the pattern say how to "install" the ribbon? I'm surprised the pattern would call for ribbon and then not tell you how to attach it to the piece. Weird. I think I have this pattern in one of my TW books, I will look tonight and see if it says anything about how to put on the ribbon.
