Interfacing
I purchased some interfacing to use on the wall hanging I'm making with my L*K snowmen. I bought one that is lightweight, but I'm afraid it will show through the holes in the linen or the "glue" will ooze through with the heat of the iron. Will it??? I've read that you should use it on some designs to strengthen the stitching and protect the back from being disturbed. Are my fears rational....I'm so afraid to ruin all my hard work!

Re: Interfacing
Michelle I have used interfacing often and at time of a heavier grade than you have and have never had a problem with it. The lightwegiht one especially should/will not show through the fabric and it is good to use it to strengthen wall hanging.

Re: Interfacing
Like Sally I've never had a problem using interfacing either - just remember to iron on the right side .........

Re: Interfacing
Interfacing is such useful stuff and is often called for to add a bit of strength to a stitched piece. It also helps protect the vulnerable back. As Mrs MBK says, though: iron on the correct side!

Re: Interfacing
Good question! I just bought some interfacing yesterday to put on the back of the Hardanger pieces that I worked on before actually putting them in the coasters I am making. My first time attempting all of this and that is definitely this week-end's project. I am so afraid of ironing the wrong side, that I will probably be triple checking. Think I will keep the kitties in the bedroom while doing this. I really don't need to try to explain to a vet how Laverne got covered with iron on interfacing.
