omg omg omg LNS FOUND!

I can't believe it! I have FOUND a nice stitchy shop within 30 minutes of my house. It's primarily needlepoint (and I'm sure they'll get me doing a needlepoint project), but they still have nice threads and a bit of cross stitch. They're getting even more xs stuff in too.
Went a while ago when they were closed, and finally got around to going when they were open yesterday. Several other ladies were sitting in the middle stitching and chatting away. They also have "super stitch nights" where someone's husband caters (food goes at a different table) and the place is open until 10pm on those nights. Didn't have my stitchy stuff with me when I went yesterday due to just getting off of work and not realizing I would find myself over there.
So after work today, brought my xs and was welcomed with open arms. There was one other lady doing cross stitch there, as well. Apparently on Friday nights, there are even more x-stitchers.
Will DEFINITELY be back!
Oh, and by the way, Southern Californians....it's located off of Soledad in Santa Clarita

Congratulations!!!! I found a needlpoint shop, but she will not carry cross stitch stuff....So I have to drive two hours. So glad that this shop sees the need!

That is so great to see. An LNS found, not another one closing. And it is also good to see that they welcome xstitchers as well. I think I will need to check with the Needlepoint Store closest to me to see if they are planning to add any cross stitch supplies now that my LNS has closed. I know they carry all the beautiful threads (at least a lot of them).

It is exciting there's nothing better than a stitch group to hang out with.

Tapestry (what we over here call needlepoint I believe) shares almost all the same materials bar fabric/canvas and in most cases patterns (as most tapestries are printed onto the canvas) so there shouldn't be too much of a dearth in cross stitch supplies.

Yay! I remember how excited I was when I found my LNS. That was over six months ago and since then there hardly been a week gone by that I haven't popped in for at least a bit (and usually leave with something ).

Stitchy nights are so much fun! I've really loved going to the ones at my LNS, as well as the all day stitches on Saturday.

Be sure to support them as much as you can, we have to keep them in business.
