Oh, where, oh where, has my Stitchy Bug gone . . . ?

Post by JA Fan »

. . . .Oh, where, oh where can he be? :(

I know we all lose our Stitchy Bug once in a while, but mine has been AWAL for three months!!! I didn't even open up my latest Cross Stitch Collection magazine when it arrived for nearly a month. Then, when I did, I just flipped through it quickly. I knew then I had a bad case of Anti-stitchitis.

Anyone know of a cure or do I just wait it out? But, then again, maybe just wanting to post this is a first step in my recovery!
I hope so. :x:

Stitchy bugs must be holding a convention somewhere because mine is no where to be found either.

Your bug is probably spending the day with mine!
I have not really made progress on any project since late November.
Holiday busyness, then I had a big dinner party at my house. And then, my aunt was moving and decided to give me her sewing machine- so I've been playing with that. Its one thing after another, and stitchy bug has gone bye-bye.

Ah hah! That explains it.. I've been attacked by a swarm of stitchy bugs over the weekend.. been stitching nearly non stop.. I'll try to shoo them back to their respective homes so that I can actually get some laundry and cleaning done around here..

I'l give them a strict speaking to about heading straight home instead of loitering and wandering off on other side trips..

Mine seems to have gone astray as well and be replaced with an itch to knit some warm cozy socks to keep my feet warm in this freezing weather we're having.

Here's to hoping my stitch bug returns.....I have a ton of projects I want to do!

I haven't really had this issue yet (though I've been stitching less than a year so everything is new and exciting to me still), but I'm always inspired by looking at other people's project or browsing around looking at new patterns.

Hope your bug finds its way home soon!

Ok.. my bug is just messing with me.
No itch to stitch at all over the weekend. I was sewing- made myself a few tool organizers and a lined bag.
Didn't realize until after I had gotten to work and was unpacking my bag, that I did not bring my lunch time stitch kit. And no project in the car. So I am without anything to work on.. which seems odd, even if I don't take it out, I usually have a project with me.
And, I am at work.. which means no stitchy until lunch. On a normal day, if I had a kit with me, it would be no-stitchy until lunch.. but since I don't.. its no stitchy for 7.5 more hours.
So now.. NOW I have the itch to stitch!
Of course I do. Why not. Can't stitch. Don't have a project to work on even if I could. And its all I want to do. ugh..

Oh dear. I hope that contrary stitchy bug stays with you when you get home and he doesn't take off on you again. :x:
BUT, you may have inadvertently hit upon the answer, Maggie! All I have to do is remove all traces of anything stitchy related from the house. Then, maybe, my bug will come back, and I'll want to stitch!

Mmm, :thinks: but that would be quite the job, though, considering all the stash I've got.

Mine has just come back after a year!!! In fact I was looking at an old SAL thread on here yesterday (haven't been on forum for yonks) that I was part of in 2009 - it's been that long, I didn't even recognise my own post!! Sometimes something just brings it back out of the blue.

Mine came back after sorting all my craft stuff out and just decided to get back into my SAL which I know Midge has finished and hers looks fantastic - Castles in the Air. Also have a couple of wedding samplers to do so should help keep my bug close to hand and I intend to keep a tight rein on it this time. Hope you find yours soon

It hasn't gone anywhere. It's playing hide and seek!

Dear Stitcher,

I'm not sure about a cure, but i have a method that keeps my stitching bug right beside me. I make (or try to make) time for myself that goes 100% to stitching everyday. I stitch for about one hour, and if I feel like it a little more or less. The thing I like is that I have time to stitch, but only if I want to.

Warm Regards,
Bearstich

aggghhh.. seriously.. my bug is only with me when I am at work.

I think he's too afraid to go out in the cold. So he stays at my office. Maybe one of these days he'll be brave enough to jump in my bag and go home with me. Until then.. I guess its lunch time stitching only for me. (At least I have a project with me today.. so at least I am getting some things right.)

I think mine got tired of the piles of snow we have everywhere and is vacationing down south. I just hope he hasn't emigrated!
