Ooh, this looks fabulous! I have only ever done one blackwork piece, 'Dancing Tulips' a few years ago and I loved it. I don't have time to start this now, but I'm definitely going to collect the patterns for the future.

Tracy, I love your coloured version, by the way!

Does anyone know how often the new stitches are suppose to come out. I am saving these for working on next year. The first few came out rather close together but I have been checking and no new ones for a while.

Read her blog post about it. She said something about her release schedule- but cannot remember what she said. She is also releasing these on Pinterest if you have an account there.

I think that it's going to be a couple of blocks at the start of every month. Elizabeth posted on one of the facebook groups I'm in that Part 4 & 5 will be out on the 1st March.

kimkat_tkl wrote:So I've got Block 1 done on my coloured version. I narrowed the 34 pairs of colours I liked down to just 13. So the plan is colour in the pinwheels and black and gold in the diamonds. :x: my fabric from Colour Cascades will be in my mailbox when I get home from training tonight so I can start my white one as well (otherwise I'll just carry on with Block 2 on the coloured version).

Fantastic job on the first block!!! :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce:

I REALLY want to do this piece, but I've completely lost my stitchy bug.

I would love to do it in color but I don't think I'm good enough with color or creative enough to put it together and have it look good to do anything other than the original. I would love to do something ombre but I feel like there wouldn't be enough of one shade of color to work :/

I'm definitely going to save these so that when my stitchy bug comes back and my list of "to dos" shortens I can start it. :)

   Ok I went and found the ladies blog and she says she will post 2 per month. Makes sense and I should have looked harder for her explanation. Thank you Maggie and Kimkat.

Thank you for asking that question, Rose. I am also collecting the charts and have been checking and hadn't seen anything more. Now I will know when to check for them.

Really pretty - love your colour choices. :applesauce: :applesauce:

Blackwork always looks fabulous, whether black or coloured. I haven't done a great of it, only a few small projects, but I love it.

I've really been enjoying this, although sometimes it takes a while to work out which route to take but I've now got all caught up on my coloured version except for the beads, which I'm going to leave for a while so that I can work out how I want to deal with them colourwise. Still yet to use all the colour pairs I have planned but they will appear in Block 4 and Block 5.

:applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce: Beautiful!!!!!!! I love the colored version and I love the close-up in photobucket where the details of the stitching are so clear and amazing. I am thinking of doing this in colors also and am thinking of sort of rainbowing them like the colors in the Twisted Band Sampler. Yours is gorgeous. Part 4 should be out in less than a week now. Can't wait to see what you do with that!

I just started saving these patterns, but I've never done blackwork before. Is it that much different that regular stitching? Any tips for a beginner?

thanks Maggie, I hadn't checked yet. I think we had block 3 but I am going to go get 4 and 5 now. Which reminds me that I need to get moving on getting some fabric also. Don't think I have any that will be long enough though I did get quite a few different pieces when my LNS closed. :thinks:

eta: If you haven't checked in on either of the galleries Liz has on the website, I would encourage you to. Liz has her versions of the project in her gallery, and there are some lovely examples of work done by readers in b & w and in color, including our own kimkat_tkl's, and looks like someone is using a variegated thread which is so pretty and interesting. I'm tempted to try that but maybe not for all the blocks. And for anyone who is planning to stitch the Fleurs de Lys by Esther at Brodeuse Bressane, she has her blocks 1,2,3 in the gallery also. Wetting my appetite for these, but am determined to finish my Twisted Band Sampler first.
