Hello from Arizona

Post by Mayzy »

Hello everyone! I've only recently taken up cross stitch and became immediately addicted! It's nice to find a group of friendly folks to share with! I'm from Montana originally but now can be found in the Valley of the Sun, Phoenix, AZ. I also draw a bit and may explore designing my own patterns some day, but for now I'm working from kits and purchased patterns.

I look forward to speaking with you all!

Hi Carole!

I have a few projects I'm currently working on. I've got a number of fairly simple one-color silhouettes that I'm doing while I'm at work because I can zone out on them and not have to worry about miscounting. Right now I'm doing an image of David Bowie for my friend, who's a major fan (as am I!).

At home I've got two kits that I'm currently working on; Guardian Angel from Jannlynn and Fall Fairy from Dimensions. I also have a couple of weddings coming up, so I have a project I'm wanting to get started on for them, but I need to wait for my cloth to come in the mail. :P

I hope to post some pictures as I get further along!

Welcome to an amazing forum. What part of Arizona are you in. My sister and her husband and daughter all of who are from Montana just moved to Tucson in April. Sister loves it. I am not that fond of the heat so I may come and visit her but would never move there.

Hope we can help you with your new craft.

Hello Mayzy! I am also new to cross stitching, and like you, became immediately addicted. This is a great group of people, and you will learn so much here. Never hesitate to ask a question. Everyone is very willing to share their experience and skill.

Hi Rose!

I'm currently in Chandler. I'm not a huge fan of the heat, either, but you get used to it (and stay in the air conditioning a lot...)

Welcome to the forum from New Hampshire. Hope you'll enjoy reading and posting on this site. It's a great forum to get answers to any questions you may have that will help with your stitch projects. If by chance you're able to share some of your accomplishments then it's always welcome in the future. It's a very time consuming hobby and we all have our pace and preferences on what we work on.

I wonder if I have something set up wrong? Unfortunately it seems that most of the pictures people have posted are just coming up as broken links for me. Any idea if there's a setting I need to adjust or something? I can see some images, but definitely the minority.
