Hello from Ohio

Post by xstitchkatie »

Hi everyone! I'm excited to be joining you all. I started cross stitching when I was 7, completed a few projects here and there, then picked it up more seriously about 2 years ago.

I'm a stay-at-home mom to our 4 y/o and 4 month old. I stitch whenever I can, but I'm slooooow because I don't have much time to myself these days.

I recently discovered cross stitch videos on YouTube and a couple of my favorites (Stitching Mae and bookknurd) mentioned the forum. Thank you for introducing me to these boards, ladies. Love your videos!

 Welcome to the forum from South Carolina! I agree that the videos are great and am so glad that they brought you to our forum! What kinds of projects do you like to stitch, when you get a chance that is. I'm sure your two little ones keep you busy!

Thank you all so much for the warm welcome!

Carole, I'll stitch just about anything. Samplers are my favorite thing to stitch. Beyond that, I also really like clean designs, geometrics, kitschy stuff and anything Disney. My favorite designers are The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery, Lizzie Kate and several smaller independents that I've discovered on Etsy.

My current WIPs are Once Upon a Time mystery sampler from The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery and the Quilty Stitches SAL. I'm behind on both. :D I've promised myself not to start on anything new until I'm caught up on those, but it's going to be so hard not to start the Lizzie Kate Green Flips and supplies I have on order. I've wanted to do that one for ages.

As much as I love stitching, I also love chatting about stitching. I'm always looking to learn about new designers and supplies. And shopping. :) I did my first project using specialty threads and hand dyed fabrics last fall. Now I'm hooked, but have to reserve them for special projects to protect my budget.

Hi and welcome from Stevenage, UK!

As a new mom myself I know what its like not to have much time to stitch. My 5 month old takes up all my time, so I only get a little stitching done in the evenings.
