Newbie

Post by marigold »

Hello, :D

I live in UK & joined this forum to meet & exchange views & ideas with fellow stitchers. I enjoy XS as well as blackwork, tapestry & longstitch. Also used to embroider when a child & still do a bit of knitting, mostly small items now like winter hats, scarves etc.

It will take me a while to get used to this forum but I look forward to getting to know you all. I will look in the galleries another time to see peoples works but today I just wanted to pop in say 'Hi'.

 Hello and welcome to the forum from South Carolina! I am another who would love to see pictures of your projects. While most of the stitching here is cross stitch, we also have Hardanger, blackwork and projects with specialty stitches as well. A few members who also knit, crochet or quilt. Take as long as you need to get used to the forum. It's the best format I have come across and filled with fantastic members. Looking forward to getting to know you too!

Thank you all for such a lovely warm welcome. :D A wet day today but at least I am one of the lucky ones as I'm not flooded. If anyone who belongs to this forum is affected by the floods I hope you will get back to normal soon.

Am having a couple of days away from XS as did a bit which was intense to me so need to give my eyes a rest. Will learn how to attach pix & get one sorted out.

Hope you all have an enjoyable weekend. :D

Hope your eyes get rested soon. I found that having a magnifying light helped me a lot, especially when I started stitching on higher fabric counts. My eyes didn't have to strain so much.

This thread, Posting a Picture into a Thread explains how to do it. If you have any questions, just ask! I know we would all love to see your work.

Forgot to mention I have joined tinypics for adding pictures so I will give that a go when I get round to it. Need to have time to be quiet & think about what I am doing as only done it once. If not will join photobucket. :D

Hi Wendy,

Thanks for letting me know you are on here too. What a lovely parade of works you have on your webpage. So many to look at but they are all beautiful :D Hope to post a few of my photos on here & the same will be put on the other forum.
Warm here today, hope to get to tidy back garden a bit. Fuchsia coming into bloom already. A few buds growing fat which I was surprised to see. Have a great weekend :D
