Hi from England!

Post by Spangoid »

So I have been looking around this forum the last few days and I am amazed at the quality of what people have been making!

Myself, I used to mess about with cross stitching as a kid but I got annoyed with it and never even finished tiny ones. The other week, I was ordering some bits from hobbycraft and I needed like another pound to get free delivery so I ordered a little mini kit. Lets just say, I am completely addicted!

It arrived Friday and I haven't put it down!I have now finished it and I am so pleased with the results. I want to put it in a little mini frame and shall give it to my mum as a little Mother's day gift. Need to do a bit of research on how to do that now.

It does look a bit messy in this picture, but in person, you can't see the gaps at all that you can see in the picture.

What are some good sites for buying kits from? I see a lot for just the pattern, but I doubt I would be interested in buying things separately for now.

 hello and welcome to the forum from South Carolina! That is one cute kitty and a great way to start. I'm sure your mother will love it. http://www.sewandso.co.uk" target="_blank" target="_blank is one of the favorite online suppliers for all things cross stitch for UK stitchers and I'm sure they have lots of kits. I know uthere are many other sites also. I'm glad you figured out how to post a pic. If you've been lurking you know how much we love pictures. Looking forward to getting to know you.

Hi there and welcome to this lovely forum :D
That's a lovely little cat, I'm sure your mum will love it
There may be some help in the tips and tricks section of the forum.
As far as buying kits, you're in the UK, so I would thoroughly recommend sew and so for all your stitchy needs. Good luck with the bank balance though
I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work, as what you've done so far is lovely :applesauce:

Thank you!

Just had a quick look at that site - Wow, I don't know where to start! So many different kits! But I can sure see why I better keep an eye on the bank account!

Hi from Colorado and welcome to the forum. I just love your little cat!! Your mom will love it, I'm sure.

I will second the suggestion for sewandso. I have purchased from them and even after converting pounds to US dollars (ouch!!), I was pleased with the price.

Have fun picking your next project, and I hope you'll share pictures of its progress with us.

So I was having a browse when I found this and I fell in love right away! Not sure if I should even think about attempting yet, but I love it way too much! Needless to say, my finger accidentally clicked on the button to buy :D

 Hi Carole and Welcome from me too.

What a cute kitty that is. Well Done. I see that Carole (rcperyls) has told you about Sewandso who are really wonderful and I am sure they have small frames which you can use for this cutie. I will go over there and look, as I want to check something on their site as well.

mmmm well I couldn't see anything except aperture cards where you can mount the stitching in a blank card. You could always send them an email, go to the site and click on Contact and they will get back to you. Hope this helps. :D
