Thread colours and coding

A little help or some tips to help me colour code these:

I bought them from amazon to do some smaller projects I was just wondering if there was a way to tell what colour they are and the code that goes with it. They don't have any codes/colours on them.

The thread numbers (or 'codes) vary by manufacturer. I know that there are some cotton thread brands that come in large packs like that that seem to be intended for other crafts, like making friendship bracelets. Not that the cotton couldn't be used for embroidery/cross stitch, but I'm not sure if there's a list of color names or anything.

Just from looking at the picture, it doesn't look like DMC floss. Your best bet is probably to locate the brand name and do a Google search to see if you can find a thread list. But if the skeins of thread themselves don't have some kind of number or other ID on them, it will be hard to match them to a list, if one exists.

Even if you don't know the exact color name or have a list of numbers, you can still make use of them. Many of us will change colors out for something we like better, especially in smaller, simpler projects.

What company was it on Amazon email them and ask if they are branded

If you want to keep track of them I would be inclined to number each of them myself and make a colour card, putting a cutting of each colour onto a strip of card with the number beside of it.

Comparing the multicolours to anything online, I'm pretty sure these aren't any of the "majors" (Anchor, DMC or Sullivan), but if they behave well and are colourfast, there's no reason at all why they shouldn't be useful for small, individual projects.
