Soie Perlee, Soie 100/3 to DMC?

Post by Little_Rat »

I found a very pretty pattern, Drawn Thread's Toccata 3, that uses these threads: Soie Perlee and Soie 100/3. However, I don't like working in silk and was wondering what the equivalents in DMC pearl would be. I think it's 8 and 12, respectively but I'm not sure. The pattern also calls for 30 ct fabric but I plan on using 28 count.
Thanks!

If you do an internet search on "Soie Perlee to DMC conversion" you get a bunch of choices, , including this one which I found on Google and leads back to the one I mentioned before.

Thanks. But color-wise, I'm ok- I'm changing the whole palette. I'm just curious about the proper thickness of thread. That is, is a Soie Perlee a #5, #8 etc.

Mabel Figworthy did a silk comparison chart a while back, but the link seems to be broken. Not much help there, but if you pm her, she'll certainly be able to solve the mystery.
