Hi from Altrincham UK

Post by Mcath »

Hi I Mcath from the North West of England, and I confess to being a cross stitch additive.

Been doing cross stitch since 1980 then had a break due work :( but now returned to cross stitch. I also do Blackwork both in black thread but also been experimenting with coloured thread.

My other hobbies. I attend an art class my teacher is very keen we explore many types of paint, but my 1st love is watercolour so I go to class once a week. Finally I also rediscovered photography I enjoy wandering round gardens and countryside taking my photos.

Oh yes and I like going out for meals and visiting the pub, garden centres, visiting other people gardens, holidays art museums. You know what I stop there. :D

 Hello and welcome to the forum from South Carolina! Sounds like you have many interests keeping you busy. Many of us have other hobbies/pastimes/interests as well as cross stitching also. We have a virtual pub you may like to visit called the Stash and Grab. It is a great place to go when you need some time out or want to party. I hope you will post pictures of your work. We love pictures!

Welcome to the forum and hello from Colorado.

Have you considered converting some of your garden or countryside photos, or your watercolors, to cross stitch? :-)

Not yet, but I am thinking about it. I want an app for my iPad that I can use so I can convert pictures to a pattern.

 Hi Mcath and Welcome from me too on a very chilly Brisbane morning. Its only about 9.2 degrees c which is not ususal for up here in the sub tropics. However the sky is a brilliant blue and the sun is pouring down so we will soon warm up.

You certainly sound as though you enjoy many different interests which is great. Looking forward to seeing some of your work.
