My daughter has sent me this picture and the associated chart.
Its from a French cross stitch magazine which seems to be full of pretty pictures and charts, but has absolutely no finishing instructions.
Has anyone done anything like this? Or know of anyone in the UK or Europe who could finish it for me? I have eyelet pliers, but I can see spending a good while stitching it and then it being ruined when the eyelets go in - even after lots of practising!
maybe a belt shop or hiking supply store has the tools to set the grommets? or a cobbler/

In in the US, I would go to a shop that specializes in Needlepoint. They do belts a lot. Is Needlepoint in the British sewing lexicon? The belt is very pretty. I can see why she likes it. Maybe you can find something online.
We don't really have a needlepoint tradition here in the UK, which is why I was an ANG member for a while! I have never seen anything remotely like the kind of making up service that you have in the States, and I am not going to send stuff all the way over the pond, nor, quite honestly, will either I or she pay the price!
It seems that some of the french magazines are very short on making up instructions, or any kind of chat. They come out monthly or bi-monthly, and are just a collection of pretty pictures and charts. No articles, no instructions. I assume that in France everyone knows these things, but being English and having no stitching friends Judith has no idea where to start. I've suggested that she pops into one of the stitching shops in her town and asks.
If that fails to produce results I will have to try doing some test pieces.
