Help!!

Post by owensmum »

I want to stitch the attached design but I need the wings in pink for a girl. I'm hopeless at changing the colours! Can anyone help?

It is so hard to help with something like this because everyone's tastes are different. Like do you want a soft look so you would want more pastel colors or do you want more bold look so you would go for the deeper colors or do you want a really deep look so you would go to the more reddish color scale. It is all preferance.

I would like it in softer shades. It's for a friend how lost her baby.

How many colours in the wings? And wouldn't you want the cloud to match?

I would count the colours and then do a floss toss.... And stitch the wings first so you can change your mind with minimal loss of time!

A floss toss is basically when you select colors you think you want to use, then put them on your fabric and see how everything works together. You don't have to literally toss it on your fabby, but you can. :-)

As for changing colors, I would try to find the pink equivalents to the blues...if the chart calls for a dark or light or bright blue, try to find a corresponding pink shade. There's really no rule set in stone on changing colors...pick what you like and it will be perfect. I do like the suggestion of stitching the wings first just to confirm you're pleased with the colors you selected.
