Here's another project I've started for my mum for Christmas. Its a picture of our dog millie (aka 'the pooh') that I've adapted for XS.
Its so unnecessarily complicated - even more so than HAED!!! ...and still very unsure if its turning out quite as I wanted (as its VERY dark).
Here's what its supposed to look like (although this pic isn't very good and there is quite alot of background that isn't shown because i took it in the dark).
...and here is how far i've got. There is an awful lot of work in this although it doesn't look like it in this picture.....

"The world, as a colourful knot of threads, has turned into a memory, and now you cannot be sure whether it was real." (Géza Ottlik, Hungarian writer)
How did you adapt the pictre Nic? Which program did you use?
I would love to do one of my dog and my mum's dog together, but I tried a freebie XS program trial and it was so complicated to me, I couldn't understand what it was asking me.
I have to say that this looks fabulous already and I can see that it's hard work, but it will be well worth it for sure.
Don't know why you think it might not turn out well, it looks amazing already! honestly, it's great!
There's nothing better than a good friend, except a good friend with CHOCOLATE! Forget love! I'd rather fall in CHOCOLATE!

Thanks everyone - definitely feeling alot more positive about it now!
I adapted the picture in Photoshop as this picture was taken in the kitchen and had a washing machine in the background (definitely not something I would want to stitch in detail). You can't see it in the picture i've added but its got a vignette background on it which will save me alot of stitching!
Threadbear - if you want to send me your picture, i'm more than happy to convert it into a pattern for you.

WOW not much there????? There is loads of work gone into this and i think..... sorry know this looks fantastic and is going to be treasured forever by ur mum. Well done
T'bear, i was using pc pro stitch and i was having a bit of trouble with it, Spark showed me a program called pattern maker and i love it.
Nic is there different things that u can do on photoshop to change the background n stuff???
It's looking fantastic so far Nic. I am working on a very detailed piece at the moment and I keep complaining it doesn't look right but hubby says it's because I'm working so close with it. If it's held away or even if I take photo's of it I can see it. Keep up the good work
Sammy - there is loads you can do with Photoshop. I used to be a graphic designer so know my way round it quite well, but have a play around with it and you'll see you can basically do anything!
If you want me to do anything for you, let me know hun x
