My Birthday Treats

Post by Colin »

I have many more Female friends than Male friends as I find it hard to trust males. when I was growing up I was always the one being picked on when my mates got bored. and my so called friends used to gather intelligence about me and pass on my movements to the Bullies. The girls used to feel sorry for me so I made friends with them instead.

Now I am 40 on Tuesday and some of my closest female friends want to take me out and spoil me buy lunch etc and generally mother me. but I just cannot fit them all in.
Tuesday Kate2 is taking me shopping and buying me lunch then will accompany me to the cx shop to so I can spend my birthday money. but I have to be careful what I get cos she will buy it for me so I wanted to go on my own. Paula is taking me out for a meal at night so that is my birthday sorted.

Wednesday Karen, Petra, Crystal and Angela want to take me shopping and together buy me some new clothes for my birthday whilst I am out Kate 1 is going to do my housework and ironing.

Then I have to go to Ipswich cos Lisa wants to take me out for a meal. I have to travel to her place by train. So now both my days off are filled.

Finally on Thursday Tracey is taking me out for a meal in the evening.

Am I lucky or just spoilt? I just hope if any of them get married that none fall on the same days.

Yea Females are much better, they even try and find me a girlfriend but I prefer to be on my own. I am the big 40 and hope to remain a Batchelor. My mother made my Dads life hell and mine too when I was young, I think that is why I dont ever want to marry anyone. I would hate to be treated like my Dad was.

Woah  Will you have time to breathe? :D  You have a busy birthday to look forward to! And imo I see friends as friends, don't really care for the gender lol

I have always got along better with boys despite being a girl, opposite of yourself ^^ but then again, there wasn't many girls back at my school that was into gaming

I dunno about others though but since finishing with my A Levels, I have very few friends.. most of them since going to uni have changed their personalities and aren't the usual people that I grew up with.. :? Its quite saddening at times because these are the people I grew up with and yet they seem so different now and distant.. :thinks: But then they all say to me that its me because Ive gone off to live with my boyfriend :?

Did anyone else experience this or something similar?

I used to have more boys as friends, and now in the vintage car scene it's mostly men too, but that's fine with me :-) -- my friends from church, however, are mostly girls (or couples).

I still have two very good friends from uni, they were my bridesmaid & matron of honour, even though one of them has been a teacher in China for the last ten years!

WOW I wish one of my friends would do my housework as a birthday present to me. I would love them for that male or female.

I would, too! Of course I get spoiled--if my mom comes over, she does my dishes, cleans the playroom, and other things. :D My daughter's birthday is next weekend, and my mom has taken Friday off to help me get the house ready.

Colin, I hope you have a wonderful birthday!

Colion, enjoy your birthday! :D :D

I think you are lucky, do not worry about being spoilt. One can never have enough of friends, support and love. That's what makes us go on.

Hi Colin - happy birthday! It does sound like you have some wonderful friends.

Jess03 - I'm the same as you, and make friends with men more than women, although I have a few 'geezerbird' female friends - I think it's being into rock music, motorbikes and gaming as well over the years - what games do you play?

I used to be on WoW a lot, but the cross stitching has taken my computer time away... I tend to go between the two.

 I am shocked, you are the 3rd person on this forum that I know now that also plays WoW and cross stitches :D

I'm into quite a few games but atm I'm playing the newest Tomb Raider games. I play WoW also, multi-tasking by cross stitching, reading the forum and/or playing WoW at the same time  What about yourself?

I haven't played WoW for a while sadly, I got a bit addicted to it I think!

It tends to be more of a winter passtime.

I loved the Tomb Raider games, I did the first few on my old PS1 and PS2 - but recently treated myself to an XBox 360 (my 36th birthday treat  )

I only know about some of these things because Eldest Son games online. He's heavily into Eve at the moment, if that means anything to anyone.
