Digital Just Cross Stitch Mag Subscription

Post by shadyglade »

I am contemplating subscribing to the Just Cross Stitch magazine digital subscription, mostly because you also get access to 2 years of back issues with the subscription. Has anyone tried this? Did you like/dislike it?

I got it last year and I just renewed it for another. I like having it as it includes the Dec Ornament issues as well. There are loads of choices in charts, some I don't care for but there are a lot I really like, it's just finding the time to do them all.

I have a hard copy subscription but when it runs out, I'm going to go digital. I bought the DVD with 10 years of issues and somehow, my husband put all of them on my Kindle. I absolutely love having all the issues conveniently with my at all times to browse through when I'm somewhere like a waiting room. Wish I had digital versions of all my hard copies! Some people just love the REAL thing but I'm less likely to look through them that way.

I have a digital subscription that I got last year....loved getting all the back issues, too. Download the issues so you have them, though, since they only go back two years and as new issues come out, the oldest back-issue drops off the list. I don't want anything in hardcopy anymore -- charts included -- so if I can't get it in PDF, I don't get it. I backup all my files on an external harddrive.

So if you download an issue, can you print out the charts if needed? Like is it in PDF format or something? I did get a digital magazine from Google Newsstand once and I was disappointed because it does not have a print feature.

Oh I have it! I love it mostly because it's not through Zino, so I get access to the regular PDF files and can store them on my computer. My only complaint, is while we get the Ornament Issue we do not get the Halloween one. Oh well. :)

Also, you can print just the pages you would need. :)

The price is attractive, but so many of the issue only have 1 chart I would have interest in. Members of my stitching group get the hard copy and bring it to our meetings so we can all see what is in here and I just don't think there is that much that I would care to stitch. Plus I have a room full of charts if I really need to go searching there is plenty available.

Yes I believe you can printoff the pages, I put have all the mags on my computer and put them on a flash drive to transfer them to my laptop cause I use that to stitch with as I don';t have a printer. That way I also have a backup of all the mags. too.

Yes, you print out the specific pages you want. It's a PDF, so the print feature would be in your PDF viewer.

Okay, I think I will try it. I figure after a year, if I usually don't find things I want to stitch, I will find something else to spend the money on.

I've never subscribed to any cross-stitch magazine for the same reason Rose said.... The few times I look at them in the stores, there are often cute things that I like, but not a lot in there I would actually stitch. (If that makes any sense...) I did pick up one magazine that was Halloween themed, though I can't remember which one. It actually had Brittercup Designs patterns in it which made it well worth it for me.

I admit, I see the pictures of the covers online and I always wonder if I'm missing something I would love!!
