End of day 1 of this week's rotation. I messed up pretty badly by adding more than needed of black, so I had to take it all out! I redid it and this was all I got done today. You can see where parts of the mess up was...I don't know how to get rid of that black fuzz. Image

By the way, I'm enjoying everyone's progress! You're all doing such amazing work! :whoop:

How annoying! As for the fluff, I find dabbing with the sticky side of Scotch tape or masking tape sometimes helps.

I'm sorry about the :anotherfrog: ing you had to do. Like others suggested, using Scotch tape can be useful. I do tend to use the brand name, as sometimes the other brands leave a sticky residue. Honestly, it appears the area will probably be covered with stitches, so I don't think you'll have a problem with the black showing through. You're doing great. :applesauce:

Scotch tape is wonderful for the sticky fuzz. And I'm sure new stitches will cover it up. I have managed to do the same thing more than once  and no one but me seems to ever know where the mistakes occurred. Good progress so far. :applesauce: :applesauce:

Scotch tape!! I can't believe I didn't think of that. I was thinking a lint roller, but the one I have would probably make my stitches look fuzzy and blurred in a sense. Thanks for the advice! I'm going to get some scotch tape!!

End of day 2. I didn't do too much because I hit one of my depression episodes. A lot has been going on...hopefully next year will be better.

My big problem is not usually fuzz left behind, but fur left behind. We have 2 black cats who leave fur on light coloured projects, and two ginger/white Maine Coons who take great care to leave their fur on my dark projects.

Despite the frogging, you're getting on well & are making more progress on a daily basis than I do.

Regards,

Richard.

:applesauce: :applesauce: Any progress is progress. Some days I get less than 100 stitches in and some days more than several hundred. Depends on lots of things including "real life". Hope you are feeling better today. I find that stitching can give my mind some time to rest from what is bothering me and adding either a tv, dvd or audiobook keeps me focused too.

Great start and nice work with the Scotch tape, I don't see any remnants of the black thread on your update. I would recommend it for pet fur, as Richard mentioned. I use it often as well.

I sometimes use a toothebrush (new and only used for this) to remove fuzzies.

Looking great!

I need to ask though - who is your starry night pattern by? I really want to stitch Starry night some day, but so many diffferent companies have charted it, and I cant decide which one I like best!

It's on Cross Stitch Collectables on here: http://www.xs-collectibles.com/detail.aspx?ID=557" target="_blank" target="_blank

There are some that don't have much detail, but this one I must say is very, very detailed!! I can't wait to get back to it. I'm thinking about doing two projects at once; one for my bedroom and one elsewhere to get more done. Here's an update on the phoenix. I'm really, really hating having the chart on my laptop. Hard copies are so much more manageable. I scanned the page and upload the photo on MS Paint and mark off what I did. Since there's no highlighting, I mess up.

By the way, thanks for the encouragement, everyone! Passing my classes and FlossTube and you guys are making me feel so great. :D

Thank you lavenderbee! You're very sweet :). I will most likely be doing Starry Night and the phoenix in one cycle, and the tulip and the fractal in another cycle to give me a break so I won't get bored. I'm thinking of doing the double rotation every two weeks in the new year. Think that's a good idea? :) It also depends on what my subscriber sent me in the mail. She told me it's a pattern and something else, so I might have to do three at once! Is that even possible?! Doing all I can until school starts for me again.

And here is an update of today. Couldn't sleep, so I stitched away!

:applesauce: :applesauce: Lovely progress on this! Having as many or as few WIPs as you are comfortable with is up to you. And how you decide to rotate them if you are stitching more than one is up to you also. And if what you try doesn't work well, try something else. I have gone from being strictly one at a time to having lots in process and from trying a strict rotation to stitching the one that yells the most loudly, which is pretty much where I am at now. And that may change in the future. So working on several at one time is very possible. Just make sure you post pictures of your progress so we can admire all of them. And if you decide to stick with one, that is fine too. As long as we get pictures, of course!

BTW, anyone seen the magic bench lately? Or perhaps we need another new one? We could set it up here and cheer! :mexicanwave:

I agree with Carole; work on one or two or several, what ever makes you happy. And definitely share the photos, not only so we can enjoy your work, but so you can see your progress. Sometimes it seems like no progress is being made until you compare pictures.
