Brekkana's Colorful Kitten 2015

Hello! I figured I should make a post, and link it to me lol (finally!)

My first project is a colorful kitten I found via google images:



I started this 84 days ago, and around a week ago, this was my progress:

I was getting frustrated with my lack of progress, and about a week ago decided to google cross stitching big projects. When I learned by my mom, she did 8x11s and smaller, but I came back into cross stitching wanting to go big. And discovered parking. Which was near impossible to do going up, so decided to try same side but going down.



However, right after taking this picture, I realized I was on the completely wrong page. So Sunday, I ripped it out.

Today, I am on the correct page, upper right corner:

I will post a few pics when I get more done, maybe a page or two ...

And my next project is this fairy:


All I need is the fabric. So these are my two for 2015.

I honestly am not sure, google takes me to tumblr, but not sure how to contact someone there, never having used that site before. The user page just seems to have it, not own it. I will have to do more google research to properly answer that.

What an interesting mix of colours the Cat one is and you have made a really great start on it too. Love your Fairy one too and it is going to be really interesting to watch the progress on both of these.

You've made a great start and I absolutely love that cat! I've seen that expression on Jackson's face, but not as colorful. I can't wait to see more of this one! How big will it be? And honestly I don't think that's bad progress at all for 84 days. Sometimes we just expect too much, or we don't really see how much we've done (which is why I take a photo at least weekly, ideally at the end of each stitching day).

Found her. The artist is Sandra Trubin and she's on FaceBook, Deviant art, and has a website and blog. There are more cats, and also lots of amazing paintings that would be fabulous to stitch. I've asked her for permission to chart Colourful Cats 4

While I was searching I came across another artist called Nick Gustavson. He has lots of cat paintings too in bright colours.

To answer a few questions: on the Colorful Kitten, the day 76 picture is to be ripped (ouch! But so true) as it was stitched 1 floss over two strands ... I was going for a whimsical look but was getting very frustrated with it. So, in the most current picture (of the dark blue) is the wee bit I have done so far ... this time stitching 2 floss over two ... and I am a glutton for punishment, my brain thinks up "oh, it will look better like this" after I stitch a bit, so my previous project, before this cat, I had restarted about four times. Yup ... a glutton ... so I am determined this is my final restart lol! (My coworkers think I am completely crazy!)

And on the fairy fabric, since the green linen is on a delayed backorder, I reordered ivory today, and am hoping to get it in the next few days. I am sad to not have the green, but I think it will look ok on ivory as well.

My niece loves pinks and purples, and cats, so that is the main reason I chose this very colorful picture. And the fairy picture just spoke to me, it told me to cross stitch it

Ok, back to stitching. Hope to have a new picture soon! Although, if I were honest, I tend to take one everyday lol, my dropbox is full of pictures lol!
