Perforated paper?
I bought some perforated paper recently, because I've seen some designs stitched on it and they looked really nice. Now I'm in a position to actually create anything myself though, I'm a little apprehensive of actually using it! Obviously I can't use a hoop or frame with the paper, is there anything else I should be cautious of?

Haven't used it myself yet so I am interested in the replies

Re: Perforated paper?
I'm assuming you're talking about the paper used for making ornaments and other things. Sekas Company has lots of designs for perforated paper.

Just stitch as you would any other fabric. You will not get any 1/4 or 3/4 stitches but other then that it is very fun to work with.
If you are looking for some one to help change you, look in the mirror

Re: Perforated paper?
Cut the paper to slightly larger (say half an inch all round) than your design, then stitch as usual though you may want to use 3 strands for good coverage. If the design has "inlets" (a bit like fjords on a map) which you want to cut exactly round, make sure you don't trail threads across that bit on the back as you will snip those when you cut out the design (been there done that...). Good luck and enjoy!

Re: Perforated paper?
That's good advice to know (and I probably wouldn't have thought of it myself) since I have some small projects I'd like to try.
current project rotation:

Faces of Faery 89
Dad's Flower Pot
