What a detailed piece. It is looking beautiful. I don't think I'd have the patience for this piece, so I am very grateful you do. I can oooh and ahhhh while someone else does all the hard work.

Thank you for sharing.

Thanks everyone! This one actually stitches up quicker than you would think, and I like that it has lots of small parts, so it feels like there are a lot of mini finishes which is very satisfying.

Two more parts done on Around the World in 80 Stitches! (Minus the beads which I will do at the end). I'm a bit relieved to get the edge section stitched. When I started this I didn't want to wait the amount of time it would take to order fabric online, and picked up a piece from one of the big box craft stores that was a bit more narrow than I would have liked. I was worried that it'd be hard to stitch so close to the edge, but I was able to finagle it with my Q-snap by only clamping 3 of the sides.

Next up will be a new start - Antique Animal Sampler. Not that I need another WIP, but I bought this as a birthday present to myself a couple of days ago and can't resist it. It'll go in the baby's room once it is done. I think it's super cool that it has both my and DH's favorite animals (an owl and a raven). This is my first time working with Weeks Dye Works (normally I'm a thrifty DMC girl) and I'm excited about stitching with the pretty threads. Unfortunately the store didn't have one of the colors (Carnation), but since it's not used a ton in the pattern I think I will just substitute the DMC to avoid an online order for one skein. I'll be stitching it 2 over 2 on 32 count linen.

Lovely update :applesauce: :applesauce:
Love your new project too. That is going to be beautiful. Interested in what you think about the hand dyed threads. I enjoy using them whenever I can, generally smaller projects because of the expense. Looking forward to seeing the sampler progress!

What a nice update on your work.

I love the new project you picked up for yourself. I especially love the colors of thread. I can't wait to see some progress pictures.

Here's my start on the Antique Animal Sampler. I was off work all last week and came down with a cold a few days ago, which has meant tons of time to stitch since I haven't felt like doing much else. I'm enjoying the hand dyed threads and feel glad I spent the extra $$ on them, I think this piece might be a bit boring otherwise.

I agree completely! and I also love working with the hand dyed threads. Specialty thread is a treat for me after lots of stitching with DMC (which I still love, but it isn't quite the same). Next you will need to try silk thread.

Great start! I love WDW and I'll check my stash for Carnation. I feel like it's not a familiar name so I don't think I have it, but I grabbed several WDW when my LNS closed and I'd be happy to send it to you if I have it.

Your ATW80 looks fantastic as well and I hope you're feeling better!

Hi all, it's been a while since I posted last. I've been feeling down and less stitchy than normal, but I have managed to work on a few pieces in the last month or so since I updated this.

Here's one of my HAEDs. This is Story Keep White Nine Tail Fox, which I am making for my DH. I managed to finish the tiny bit I had left on pages 2 and 3 and complete a column of 20ish stitches on page 4. This pic is really washed out, I tried a few different types of lighting but my phone didn't want to cooperate last night. It felt really nice to pick up a HAED again, and this was a good one to work on because it goes really fast due to the minimal amount of confetti.

Image

I also finished a small piece for my son's half-sister as a present for her first birthday. My son thought it was really cute, and her parents were very appreciative as well. I pieced this together from some random small free patterns and an alphabet I found through Google image searches. This was my first time framing something in a hoop and I'm pretty happy with how it came out. I used this method: http://www.flossandmischief.com/how-to/ ... in-a-hoop/" target="_blank" target="_blank

Image

I've also made a bit more progress on Antique Animal Sampler but unfortunately I deleted that picture and now it's back on my Q-snap so I can't easily take another one. I'm working on it now and will post an update on my progress once I am ready to switch to something else.

What a lovely bright shiny little gift for "Olive" and a great idea too. Lovely update on the HAED, so much detail in that tail, it is gorgeous.
